Principal photography is completed, the shot material has been approved of, we are ready for post-production. Director Christian Frosch and cutter Michael Palm will start to work on the film in the editing room soon. In about a year Yoon will be ready for its theatrical release. But before post-production is really getting started, a well-deserved wrap party for the crew and friends took place in Vienna´s Blue Box.

As it was a mild and pleasant night, director Christian Frosch delivered his final speech outside.

Relieved of the burden of his responsibilities, line producer Igor Orovac enjoys himself as party DJ.

Now that the shooting has been successfully completed, it´s high time to finally introduce Martin Wuttke and Xaver Hutter.

Xaver Hutter (on the left) is well known from both TV and cinema. Since his debut in Stefan Ruzowitzky´s "Tempo", he played diverse roles, including the part of Walter Gropius in Paulus Manker´s "Alma". As Branco, he is getting a bit too close to Hannah (Brigitte Hobmeier).
Martin Wuttke is one of the most successful and well known German actors. His part in SILENT RESIDENT is Hauks, a security inspector of Neustadt, who becomes important for Hannah.

The scene in the video that we put online today was shot a little while ago, but we don´t want to withhold it from the visitors of our blog. This time, the video wasn´t shot by a tiny digital camera with video function (like all the other 60" clips) but by Making Of cinematographer and filmmaker Sebastian Brameshuber. The swimming pool on the roof of Alterlaa was the setting for a wet day of shooting last week.

Unfortunately, we can´t give away yet how the story of Gabriel (picture above; Santiago Bongola) is connected with the turbulences in the pool.

Hobmeier and Wokalek

Christian Frosch and Brigitte Hobmeier discuss subtle nuances in the role of Hannah.

The shooting of Yoon sets off the meeting of two theatre stars from Munich and Vienna in the roles of Hannah and Anna: here on the set in "Lasalle´s flat" on the top floor.

Therefore, fans of Brigitte Hobmeier (Hannah) and Johanna Wokalek (Anna) can while away the waiting time until the film´s release next year at the theatre.

Brigitte Hobmeier is the new star of the Münchner Kammerspiele. This fall, she will be playing the Anja in Anton Tschechow´s "Kirschgarten".

Johanna Wokalek, part of the Burgtheater ensemble, will play the role of Tyler in "Some Girls" by Neil La Bute at Vienna´s Akademietheater, premiering in October.

It gets crowded behind the camera. Many eyes are seeing to it that everything adds up.

Not only Busso von Müller´s attention to detail is asked for. The audience will experience SILENT RESIDENT "through his eyes" on the big screen next year.

Working on "historic" ground

In real life, Alterlaa aka Neustadt is celebrating its 30th birthday these days. The film crew wishes all the best.

Alterlaa is home to 10.000 people and functions like a small village equipped with medical care, schools, nurseries, a church and a shopping mall. The social utopia to "live like the rich" seems to have come true for at least some of the inhabitants who claim to enjoy life in the huge towers with the swimming pools on top.

Theatrical Release in France

Taxidermia, a film co-produced by Amour Fou, Eurofilm Stúdió, Memento Films and La Cinéfacture, was successfully released in movie theatres thoughout France this week. The film celebrated its international premiere earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival in the official selection "Un Certain Regard".

Another supplement, this time from the nightly shooting at Alterlaa, we have posted pictures of that shooting before. The man that you´ll see after about 30 seconds of the clip, "Wurstsemmel" in hand and flipping through a magazine, is producer Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu. Furthermore, you´ll see tenants of Alterlaa who used the opportunity to watch the shooting. Thanks to them for literally keeping still in just the right moments!

A supplement to the post "Original setting" from last week, this clip shows the shooting of a hospital scene with Brigitte Hobmeier, Xaver Hutter and Erni Mangold. Medical and film equipment side by side - with almost the same kind of monitors and controllers.
We are running a little late this day, everybody is a bit nervous. But as soon as the camera is rolling, everyone is quiet and concentrated immediately.

Night - outdoors

We met a lot of interest from the people living in Alterlaa aka Neustadt. Some of them were watching the shooting until long after midnight.

Production designer Giovanni Scribano will always recall the scent of white lilies when thinking of SILENT RESIDENT. It is a logistic challenge to have them ready for their "performances" in various scenes, at the right moment, fresh and in sufficient numbers. Giovanni is socializing with Viennese florists...

So far the shooting progressed without a lot of delay. If it had not been for the spider who chose the camera lens as the ideal place to settle down, we would have been right on time. With a tightly woven web on such a vital spot even an animal as tiny as a spider can hold up the crew for 45 minutes.

Shooting indoor means a little space for a lot of people. Fortunately, everyone knows what they have to do.

The 9th of August marked the beginning of the shooting of SILENT RESIDENT.

Brigitte Hobmeier, Johanna Wokalek, Erni Mangold and others acted in the fist scenes shot in Alterlaa, a huge housing estate in Vienna.
